TNT Tropang 5G will be out for a strong start as they kick off their 2026 PBA Governors' Cup campaign against guests Macau Black Bears. The defending champions are clear favourites against a Macau Black Bears side that has lost each of its opening three games in the competition, hence our prediction supporting a TNT victory.
After a disappointing PBA debut in the Commissioners’ Cup, Macau Black Bears appeared set for another underwhelming run in the Governors’ Cup. The Black Bears have been Group A’s punching bag so far, suffering defeats in each of their opening three games.
Notably, Marcus Elliott’s side haven't only dropped all three of their opening games, but lost by wide margins. This includes a 149–124 defeat to Converge FiberXers in their most recent outing.
TNT Tropang 5G finished in the Commissioners' Cup finals last month before losing 4–2 to Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. Last month’s feat saw TNT appear in five successive PBA Finals for the second time in the club’s history, underlining their status as perennial title contenders.
Chot Reyes’ side won the last edition of this competition in 2024, defending the title after securing their maiden crown in 2023. They defeated Macau Black Bears 119–112 in their previous meeting in the Commissioners' Cup last month.
