The semi-final of the 2026 IIHF World Championships kick off with Switzerland taking on Norway on Saturday afternoon. La Nati have not lost a single game in this competition, and our prediction is that they will be too good for the Polar Bears in this one.
Switzerland are set to feature in their third straight World Championship semi-finals, and they are one of the two teams in the final four that have maintained a perfect record of eight wins in eight matches.
La Nati booked their spot in this round by defeating Sweden 3-1 on Friday. Sven Andrighetto has 13 points for the team (G4 A9), followed by Denis Malgin with 12 points (G4 A8).
The Swiss have not conceded a single goal in the third period in their last five games. They are 9-0 in all competitions and have won their last six against their upcoming opponents.
Meanwhile, Norway have been the surprise package of the semi-finalists. They only lost one match in regulation during the group stage and are set to make their first final four appearance in this competition.
The Polar Bears got to this stage with a 2-0 victory over Latvia in the quarter-final. Michael Brandsegg-Nygard has recorded points in all three matches he has featured, tallying five in the competition.
Norway have won six of their last 10 matches in all competitions. They last beat the Swiss in a competitive match in the 2016 World Championships.

Our Switzerland vs Norway Prediction
Norway have done unbelievably well to reach the semi-final of this year’s World Championship, but while they are evidently brimming with belief, this is by far their toughest test in this competition to date.
That’s because the Swiss have looked almost unstoppable at times in this tournament, now the only team with an unbeaten record. La Nati have won their last six matches against this opponent, and we feel they will do likewise in this one. Our Switzerland vs Norway prediction is Switzerland -1.5.
