Italy will take on Switzerland on Tuesday in the first of the knockout stages of the Winter Olympics Ice Hockey competition. How will they get on? Read our prediction to find out.
The support of the home crowd has seen Italy performing well above what they should have done in their first two games in Group B against Slovakia and Sweden but they were completely outplayed when they took on Finland.
Perhaps the adrenaline of playing has hit a point of exhaustion as things get no easier now against Switzerland in the elimination stages of the competition.
Switzerland won two of their three Group A games against France and the Czech Republic, having to go to overtime to beat the second of those. Unsurprisingly they were unable to cope with Canada but there was no disgrace in that loss.
A win against Italy is going to be fully expected by their fans as they are by far the stronger of the two sides with a game against Finland in the quarter-final stage coming up as the reward for the winner of this game.
