Sweden (5th seed) and Italy (20th seed) will meet in the IIHF World Championship on Thursday afternoon. Tre Kronor are unbeaten in their last 15 matches against Gli Azzurri, and our prediction is that they will come out on top in this one as well.
Sweden have had a mixed first half of their World Championship campaign, having lost to Canada and the Czech Republic, while beating Denmark (6-2) and Slovenia (6-0).
Lucas Raymond has led Tre Kronor in this competition, scoring four goals and three assists, while Oliver Ekman-Larsson has also been impressive, now with two goals and five assists so far.
The Swedes have won six of their last 10 games across all competitions and beat this opponent 5-2 at the Olympic Games earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Italy are looking increasingly likely to be relegated to Division 1A. They have lost all four of their games in this competition against Canada, Slovakia, Norway and Czechia.
Gli Azzurri have only scored two goals in the competition but have already conceded 17. Nick Saracino and Gabriel Nitz were the players who got on the scoresheet for the team.
The Italians are now on a five-match losing streak. Their two wins in their last 10 games were against Great Britain.

Our Sweden vs Italy Prediction
Italy are looking destined for the Division 1A next year, as they are one of only two teams yet to win a match in the World Championship, and have already conceded a whopping 17 goals in their four games.
Sweden were extremely competitive in their losses to Canada and Czechia, but they made light work of Slovenia in their last match, and given their record against this opponent, we fancy them to win this one comfortably. Our Sweden vs Italy prediction is Sweden -4.5.
