Sweden will have a second game at home, hosting Azerbaijan and hoping to bounce back after a heavy loss in their Euro 2024 Group F opener. These two sides are bottom of the group after opening losses. Sweden lost 3-0 at home to Belgium, falling to a Romelu Lukaku hat trick, a crushing defeat that ended their five-game unbeaten streak. They have four wins in their last five matches and this will be a strong point to start from. The defeat to Belgium was also the second game in 10 in which they failed to score and they will aim at returning to scoring ways here too. Sweden have normally been strong at home, and even coming into this game they have three wins in four matches. In 15 Euro qualifiers, Sweden have tasted defeat just twice – against Belgium and Spain.

Azerbaijan have faced Sweden two times before, and suffered straight losses. They don’t come into this game on a positive note, having lost 4-1 at Austria in their opening game of this group. However, five wins in their last six matches should give them the confidence that they can tackle the Swedes. Quite notably, Azerbaijan have scored in each of their last six matches – in the five matches preceding the loss to Austria, they did score two or more goals in each. However, they have just two clean sheets in the last seven matches, and both teams have scored in four of their last five matches. They’ve however not been able to carry this form in Euro qualifiers, and coming into this game, they haven’t managed a win in 35 away matches in the competition.
