The first round of the 2025-26 Carabao Cup kicks off with Swansea City and Crawley Town locking horns in Wales on Tuesday night. The Swans and the Red Devils last met in a competitive fixture in 2012, which the Welsh team won 3-2. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Swansea is the only team from outside England to win the EFL Cup (2012-13) and have got to the second round in each of the last two editions of the competition.
However, the Swans are entering this match off the back of a 1-0 defeat in their season opener to Middlesbrough over the weekend and a winless three-match pre-season.
At home, though, the hosts ended last season with five wins in their final seven games across all competitions (W5 D1 L1) and kept clean sheets in each of those victories.
Meanwhile, Crawley Town have never won the EFL Cup - their best-ever run in the competition came in 2019-20 when they reached the fourth round before bowing out to Colchester.
Following relegation, the Red Devils have made a disappointing start to life in League Two, losing both games so far, 3-0 away to Grimsby and 2-1 at home against Newport, respectively.
The visitors have a record of three wins, one draw and six defeats in their last 10 away competitive matches. They also conceded two or more goals in each of those losses.

Our Swansea vs Crawley Town Prediction
Swansea were unable to get an opening-day victory in the Championship this past weekend, but they will be relatively pleased with the draw they’ve been handed in this competition and are clear favourites to progress to the second round.
Crawley Town are back in League Two this season, and this could turn into a long campaign for the Red Devils unless they make major improvements from their first two showings. Our Swansea vs Crawley Town prediction is Swansea wins & over 1.5.
