Stuttgart vs Bayer Leverkusen Prediction & Betting Tips - Bundesliga
by Daniel Ngulu | in Bundesliga Prediction
One point separates VFB Stuttgart from their visitors Bayer Leverkusen ahead of the two sides’ meeting in the third round of Bundesliga. Stuttgart are eighth with three points while Leverkusen have managed two points and both sides will be looking to secure the three points on offer here. The home team started its Bundesliga season on a low, losing 3-2 to Freiburg at home, but the most recent game came with much improvement. Stuttgart came from down to beat Mainz 4-1 in a game they finished with 10 men after Pascal Stenzel’s 90th minute sending off. Silla Wamangituka has been a key player for Stuttgart in the three matches they have played this season, scoring in each of them. He has shown good linkage with Sasa Kalajdzic in the forward line and with the Austrian forward scoring in each of the last two matches, manager Pellegrino Matarazzo has lesser concerns in attack. However, with no clean sheet in two straight league matches, the coach will have a headache in Stenzel’s absence. Stuttgart finished second in the second tier last season to earn promotion, but key to their run was a good home form, where they won 12 of the 17. They had the best run at home in the league, and after losing their first home game in Bundesliga, they will be hoping to make amends. In the 2018/19 season, as Stuttgart were relegated, they lost home and away to Leverkusen and also lost in February this year when the two met in the German Cup. They have managed just one win over Leverkusen in 17 meetings.
Leverkusen, on their part, did not have the desired start to the Bundesliga season, with two straight draws and will be eyeing their first haul of three points. They have seven wins in their last eight meetings with Stuttgart and will want to use this game to improve on their slow start. After a massive 7-0 win over Eintracht Norderstedt in the German Cup Leverkusen had a 0-0 draw with Wolfsburg in their league opener then were forced to come from down to secure a 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig. They don’t have last season’s talisman Kai Havertz who left for Chelsea but Leverkusen still has the quality to replace the German international. Last season, Leverkusen finished fifth in Bundesliga and won 10 of their 17 away matches. With more Bundesliga experience, they will be looking to extend their dominance over Stuttgart as they seek to do better than the 19 wins they managed last season.

Our Stuttgart vs Bayer Leverkusen Prediction
Bayer Leverkusen carries to this game more experience in the top flight, and have been dominant in matches against Stuttgart. They have drawn in the opening two matches of the league campaign and will definitely give more in search of their first win here. Stuttgart will be without key defender Pascal Stenzel, which further affects them going to this clash, but with their sharp forwards we bet they will get something from the game. Based on their head to head stats, we believe Leverkusen will extend their dominance here and thus we will go for an away win.
