Our next prediction is for the Championship match between struggling Stoke City and promotion-challenging Sunderland. Who will win this quick return match between the two? They last met at the start of December, with Black Cats defeating the Potters 2-1 at the Stadium of Light.

With the return leg at the bet365 Stadium, Stoke City manager Narcis Pelach will be hoping his team can turn around their recent run of poor form. No wins in their last nine games, with five defeats in the last six, have sent the Potters tumbling towards the Championship relegation zone. 

As a result, Stoke now lie 19th in the table after the Boxing Day fixtures and they are just three points better off than Hull City in the relegation zone.  They were beaten 2-0 by Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds in their last two matches. 

In contrast, Sunderland come into this game in solid form. Three wins and two draws in their last five and just one defeat in their last 16 games (1-0 away to Sheffield United) sees the Black Cats now occupy fourth spot in the Championship table. 

They warmed up for this game with a 2-1 home win over Norwich City, followed by a battling 2-2 Boxing Day draw away to fifth-placed Blackburn Rovers, who now trail Regis Le Bris’ team by six points.
