Sporting Lisbon host Benfica in the second leg of this Portuguese Cup semi-final with the winners facing either Porto or Braga in the final. Strangely this second leg is being played nearly two months after the first leg in Benfica. That saw the home side get a 2-1 win conceding a late goal six minutes from time that could prove crucial in this second leg. Sporting are third in the Primeira Division and eight points behind their opponents so this is probably their best chance of winning a trophy this season. They are unbeaten in their last seven games winning each of the last four. At home, they have won their last three but the last Portuguese team to defeat them on home territory was Benfica who won 4-2 in February.

Benfica are having a titanic battle with Porto and only lead them on goal difference. They lost to their rivals in the League Cup so will be keen to win this competition and hopefully do the league and cup double. They are undefeated in their last four games, winning the last three. That included victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the last 16 of the Europa League and Benfica have kept clean sheets in all of those last three games, one going to 120 minutes. Their away form is highly impressive with the last nine games producing eight wins and a defeat to Zagreb. Go for Benfica to get the win in this cup tie.
