Sporting Lisbon are third in the Portuguese Primeira League and need to win this game. That's because they are nine points behind their opponents, second placed Porto and that's a gap that can't widen any longer. Only the top two in the league go into next season's Champions League, so the last thing Sporting want to do is see that gap go into double figures. Sporting have won three and lost two of their last five league matches. Both of those defeats came on the road but their current form is a lot stronger at present. They have lost two of their six home league games but the last three have all been won.

Porto are four points behind leaders Benfica and have only lost one of their 14 league games this season. They lost their first league match of the season but have been unbeaten since. Porto have won four of their last five league matches  but form away from home isn't the greatest out in recent weeks. They have drawn two of their last three away league matches and goals have been in short supply. Porto's seven away league games have seen only 16 goals scored and all but one of the last six have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. This looks like being a tight match with a lot at stake, go for under 2.5 goals to be scored in this game.
