Spain W - Sweden W: Form Analysis

Spain are ranked sixth in the world but that's three places below their opponents. The Spanish side got their Women's World Cup campaign off to a good start with wins over Costa Rica and Zambia. Three were put past the Costa Ricans and then five more scored against Zambia, both games saw them keep clean sheets. That wasn't the case in their final group match as they were beaten 4-0 by Japan (later to lose to Sweden). They finished second in their group and that took them into a last 16 match against Switzerland who Spain beat 5-1. The last eight saw them held to a 1-1 draw over 90 minutes by the Netherlands but a 111th minute Parralello goal took them into the semi-finals. The loss to Japan is the only loss they've suffered in their last 11 games.

Sweden won all three of their group matches. They began with a 2-1 win over South Africa, having to come from behind to get the victory. They followed that up with a 5-0 win over Italy and ended the group by defeating Argentina 2-0. They wouldn't have expected to meet Team USA in the last 16 but the Americans failed to win their group. The Americans also failed to reach the quarter finals as they drew 0-0 with Sweden and then lost the penalty shoot out. In the last 16, Sweden defeated Japan 2-1 to extend their unbeaten record to seven matches. The previous match between these two countries was played last year and ended 1-1. We go for both teams to score in this match.

Spain W & Sweden W Squad Analysis

Spain have to decide whether to start with Salma Paralluelo who came on as sub to score the winner against the Netherlands. After the 4-0 loss to Japan, Spain changed their goalkeeper. Catalina Coll lacks experience but is expected to start this sem-final. It's not known yet if Alexias Putellas will be given a start after being on the bench for the past two games. Sweden do not have any fresh injury worries and could well field an unchanged starting line-up.
