Spain U21 have one of the best records at the UEFA U21 Championships and they’ll be hoping to add a sixth title to their list of wins. Before then, they have a quarter final clash with Croatia U21 in Maribor. Their title defence is going on well and they go to this game as outright favorites having also topped Group B. Spain U21 have qualified from the group stages in each of their last five finals appearances and have no loss in the knockout stages, in matches coming before the final. Damagoj Bradaric’s 90th minute goal in the 2-1 loss to England is what handed the Croats a place in the quarters as they edged England are Switzerland on goal difference. Going to this game, Croatia are outright underdogs, especially after suffering two losses in the group stages and failing to keep a clean sheet in the three group stage matches. In their last five matches, they have one clean sheet and in three of the five, they have conceded two or more goals. These two nations faced off last in 2016 and Croatia emerged 3-0 winners then. That was their first ever win over Spain U21, and broke a run of five straight losses against Spain U21. Five of the six meetings have produced over 2.5 goals.
