Southampton welcome West Brom to St Mary's Stadium for Premier League action this weekend. Both sides come into the match off the back of getting their first points of the campaign last weekend. Danny Ings was on the scoresheet again for the Saints when they beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor. Ralph Hasenhuttl will be pleased to see his hitman in firing form but his team's reliance on Ings is a little worrying. All three of their goals this season have been scored by the forward. It leaves Southampton 15th after three games. West Brom, who are 17th, have one point after a 3-3 draw at home to Chelsea. They really should have won the match after taking a three-goal lead in the first half but a collapse after the break undid their good work. The Baggies remain without Kieran Gibbs after the defender's red card against Everton. Although the result against Chelsea showed an improvement, Slaven Bilic knows his team cannot continue conceding at their current rate and stay in the division. They have conceded 3.6 goals per game this season. 

Southampton have a strong record in recent matches against West Brom, winning their last four encounters. Seven of the last 11 matches between the teams featured a maximum of one goal. Southampton had an abysmal home record in the Premier League last season and have started off this campaign by losing their first two home matches in all competitions. We expect West Brom to take confidence from their result against Chelsea but ultimately see Danny Ings firing Southampton to victory. Back a home win.
