Southampton vs Watford Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

The bottom two in the Premier League face each other in a relegation six-pointer. Southampton are 19th in the table but only a point clear of Watford who have only won one league game this season. The Saints put in an improved performance last weekend when nearly winning away at Arsenal. They twice led in the game but a late goal saw them return home with just a point. Failing to win that match saw them drop to 19th after Norwich won at Everton. Southampton are four points from safety, virtually five because of their terrible goal difference. Their current form is that of a side who may well be playing in the Championship next season. They only have two points from their last nine league matches with 15 goals conceded in the last four. Home form is another major concern with four straight losses and 18 goals scored by their opponents. Only one league point has been earned all season, a draw with Manchester United.

Watford returned to the bottom of the Premier League when being beaten 3-0 at home by Burnley. That was their seventh league defeat of the season (Southampton have lost eight) andt their only league win has been away at 18th placed Norwich City. Watford have drawn five league games this season, only three teams have more. Their away form has seen them earn five points from six games. Three of six have been lost with defeats at Manchester City, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Before that win at Norwich, they drew at Tottenham and the tip here is for a double chance bet to be placed on them to win or draw this game.
