Southampton have had another inconsistent season and spent a fair amount of time in the bottom three. A change of manager led to some improved form but they still lack consistency, particularly on their travels. They start the weekend in 16th place and five points above the relegation zone with a better goal difference. Two of their last three league games are at home, with the final fixture being against relegated Huddersfield Town. With a game at West Ham inbetween, they should be able to get enough points to avoid the drop. Their home form has got them out of trouble in recent weeks with three wins from the last four, with the other being a loss to Liverpool.

Bournemouth are 14th in the table and safe from relegation. They manage to do that each season despite conceding plenty of goals and having a poor away record. They have one win in their last five league games and have won two of their last three away matches. Those were at relegated Huddersfield Town and an out-of-form Brighton and Hove Albion, who played most of the game with only ten men. Between mid-November and the end of February, Bournemouth lost nine successive away league games conceding 28 goals. A bet on Southampton to win is the suggestion for this game.
