SOAR Academy will welcome Zamalek on Sunday in the two teams’ next CAF Confederations Cup assignment. Zamalek are currently second in Group B after one round of play while SOAR are bottom. SOAR were defeated 2-0 away to Sagrada Esperanca on matchday one. The Guinean outfit is making its debut in Africa’s second-tier club competition. Doura Sylla’s men have found the going tough and have won only one of five matches since the qualifying rounds. CO Coyah have lost two of their last three games.

Zamalek began the competition with a 1-0 win over Libya’s Abu Salim. That win is part of their current three-game winning streak that has also seen them keep two clean sheets. The Egyptian giants followed up on their matchday one win by subduing Modern Future 2-0 away from home in the Premier League. That victory kept them within striking distance of top spot and got them back to winning ways in the competition. Zamalek won this competition back in the 2018/19 season which was the last time they participated.
