Smolevichi won promotion last season but are finding life in the Belarus Premier League a difficult task. After three games, they are one from bottom and host Shakhtyor who are in eighth, three points ahead of them. The home side started well with a 1-1 draw at defending champions Dinamo Brest, leading the game for 13 minutes. That's been their only goal of the season though. Their next game saw them lose 1-0 at Isloch Minsk before a 1-0 home defeat by Vitebsk. 

Shakhtyor have had a busy start to the season with games in both the league and the Belarus Cup (of which they are the holders). League form has been mixed with a win, draw and defeat from their first three matches. Their loss came in the opening fixture against Zhodino, losing 1-0. They bounced back well with a 2-0 away win at Gorodeja before drawing 0-0 at home to Neman Grodno. Their hold on the Belarus Cup has been severely loosened with a 2-0 loss at Dinamo Brest in the first leg of the semi-final. They have only scored in one of their last four matches and a bet on under 2.5 goals in this game looks a profitable one to make.
