In a repeat of last season’s meeting at Wimbledon, Ben Shelton and Jannik Sinner are set to face off again. The only differences are that this time they meet in the quarter-finals and that Shelton is a top 10 player. Read on for our prediction of the match, a seventh meeting between the two.

Sinner was cruising along in the first three rounds of the tournament and had not lost a set until his round of 16 matchup with Grigor Dimitrov. After dropping the first two sets, Sinner would ultimately advance after Dimitrov was forced into a gutting retirement following a right pectoral injury.

The Italian will now be plotting for a sixth straight win against Shelton. In the last five meetings with Sinner, Shelton failed to win a set. It will be a concern for the American, as Sinner hasn’t dropped many sets in his matches this year.

The loss at Wimbledon last year was the first of two Grand Slam meetings between these players. The latest one was this year at the Australian Open, in which Sinner won on his way to the title.

Shelton will, in this game, be vying to be the third player to beat Sinner in the Italian’s 51 matches. Having dropped a set for the first time in the last match might, however, indicate fatigue is starting to creep in. Shelton's chances could be boosted the fact that Sinner canceled Tuesday's scheduled practice after undergoing an MRI for an elbow injury that he suffered against Dimitrov.
