Just before the new Championship season began, Steve Bruce left Sheffield Wednesday to take over at Newcastle. Despite that setback, Wednesday have made a good start to the new season. Their fans will quickly point out that Bruce has seen his new team lose their first two games. The Owls got their season off to a winning one with a 3-1 away victory at Reading. They followed that up with a 2-0 home win over Yorkshire rivals Barnsley with the first of their goals coming after just two minutes. Their unbeaten run ended with a 1-0 loss at Millwall despite their opponents playing the last 47 minutes with only ten men. The loss left Wednesday in sixth place.

Luton Town won League One last season but have found life back in the Championship a bit tough so far. They hosted Middlesbrough in the first game of the season and drew an eventful game 3-3. They trailed 1-0, led 2-1, went 3-2 down, saw their opponents miss a penalty and then equalized with five minutes to go. Their next two games have both ended in defeat though. Firstly, they lost 2-1 at Cardiff with the Welsh side getting a 96th minute winner. Then they lost 2-1 at home to West Brom after taking a first half lead. The tip here is for Wednesday to get another home win.
