Both teams saw their promotion hopes suffer a blow on Good Friday. Sheffield Wednesday traveled to the Championship leaders Norwich City looking for three points to keep their outside promotion hopes alive. They trailed before taking a 2-1 lead but conceded a 90th minute equalizer. That leaves Wednesday in 11th place, seven points behind the play-off positions with three games to go and they have an inferior goal difference. Only one of their last five league games has been won but they have won two of the last three at home.

Bristol City also drew on Friday and that caused them to drop out of the promotion play-off positions. They hosted Reading who are fighting relegation but had to come from behind to get a 1-1 draw. That took them down to seventh in the table, a point behind Middlesbrough but they have a game in hand. Only one of their last four league games has been won and two of the last five played away. A bet on over 2.5 goals looks to be the one to go for.
