Wednesday night Championship action includes a big game at Bramall Lane as Sheffield United host Swansea City with just two points separating the two teams. Will the Blades cut down the Swans in this match between two of the top ten in the division? Let’s see what our prediction makes of this exciting encounter.

Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United started the season behind every other team in the division thanks to a -2 point penalty for financial issues from their 2022/23 season in the Championship. However, they quickly made up that ground and are unbeaten after seven games, amassing 15 points in total, though they stand in sixth place in the table with 13 points due to that penalty. 

Defensively, the Blades have been razor sharp, not conceding a goal in their last four games in the Championship. That included a 0-0 draw away to Portsmouth at the weekend as well as two 1-0 wins at home over Watford and Derby and a 2-0 road win at Hull City.

On paper, this looks a tough task for Luke Williams’ Swansea City. The Swans are unbeaten in three games, defeating Norwich 1-0 at home and then Coventry 2-1 away before a 1-1 draw on Sunday with Bristol City.

Away from home, they have lost to Middlesbrough and West Brom, both by a 1-0 scoreline, so the aforementioned win over Coventry secured their first away points of the season. But this trip to Bramall Lane looks a considerably more difficult task. 

Recent history isn’t on the visitors' side either. Sheffield United has won all of the last three meetings between the teams, scoring eight goals and conceding zero.
