Sheffield United vs Arsenal Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Prediction
Newly promoted Sheffield United start the weekend in 13th place, and host third placed Arsenal on Monday. Six points separate the two sides; Arsenal on 15 and Sheffield on nine after eight games. Sheffield have won just one game in their last six and have three losses. It is now 11 years since Sheffield and Arsenal last met and on that occasion, in a League Cup match, Arsenal won 6-0. However, in the last Premier League meeting between the two, in 2007 Sheffield won 1-0. That will not matter a lot for now but Sheffield will be concerned at their run of form going to this clash. They have not scored in any of their last three matches and they have conceded in three of their last five matches. Sheffield have won just once in the last six matches. This season, across all competitions, Sheffield have played six matches at home, winning two and losing four. Their run at home has also not produced the best results defensively; they have conceded in each of the last five. They go to this clash with three straight losses at home. After beating Crystal Palace 1-0 in their first home match, Sheffield went on to lose each of the next three ahead of the Arsenal game. In their last game, Sheffield drew 0-0 with Watford in what could pass as a better result defensively but then Watford is the bottom side in the league. A better measure of their defensive prowess will come against Arsenal, just two match days after losing 1-0 to Liverpool. The poor track in attack will however be a concern, especially as they face Arsenal, who have really improved defensively.
Arsenal, on the other hand, will be looking to continue with the good run they have had in the past few matches. They have five wins in their last six matches. The loss to Liverpool earlier in the season is their only one in the 11 matches they have played so far. Arsenal have not conceded in three of their last four matches and have scored in each of their 11 matches in the season. In seven of their 11 matches, they have managed to score two goals or more. Their improvement in defence comes at a time French striker Alex Lacazette is returning from injury and the attack will also be boosted. The 1-0 win over Bournemouth in the last game was, however, Arsenal’s only second clean sheet in the Premier League this season. One major concern for Arsenal going to this game, will be the fact that they have not won in any of their last three away matches in the league. They beat Newcastle United 1-0 in the opening game and have not won away again, managing just two points from a possible nine.

Our Sheffield United vs Arsenal Prediction
Arsenal have not won in their last three league matches away from home while Sheffield United have lost the last three at home. The key determinants in this game, are expected to be in the recent forms of the teams as well as strength in defence and attack. Arsenal have five wins in their last six matches and with the return of key players, they will have an edge. Sheffield have failed to score in the last three home matches and with Arsenal’s improving defence, we don’t expect much difference. Arsenal have not conceded in three of their last four matches. They have scored two or more in seven of their last 11. Based on this we will go with a 2-0 win for Arsenal here.
