Manchester City continue their catch-up in this Champions League group after losing their first match at home to Lyon. They are second on three points only a point behind the French side who travel to bottom of the table Hoffenheim this week.  City had to rely on a late goal to get the win at Hoffenhem in their second group game and now play Shakhtar in their next two games. Good performances in these two games should take them into the knock-out stages and they will be looking for revenge after losing here last season. They did play a weakened side in that game though, having already qualified. City have won five and drawn one of their six games played since losing to Lyon and had another convincing Premier League win on Saturday. They have won four of their last six away games in the Champions League.

Shakhtar are still looking for their first win in this group having drawn both of their games so far. They had to come from behind to get a home draw with Hoffenheim but will be disappointed their trip to Lyon didn't result in a win. They were 2-0 up in that match with 20 minutes to go but then conceded two goals in a couple of minutes. They are five points clear at the top of their domestic league and they are unbeaten in their last 11 league and cup games. They have no wins in their last three Champions League games and at home have won five of their last six. They beat Roma last season before losing the away leg to be knocked out in the last sixteen. This won't be too easy for City and might even be satisfied with a draw knowing Shakhtar have only won one of their last nine away Champions League games. However, they are in good form and the tip here is for a narrow away victory,
