Sevilla are looking to rise to second spot in La Liga standings when they play host to Valencia in the sixth week of action in Spain. Going to this game, they have eight points, in sixth place, two points and three places behind Valencia, but they have a game in hand. Sevilla have played to three straight draws ahead of this fixture and this being the first of two straight home league games, they will be aiming at a win. They have three clean sheets in their last five matches, and the last four have produced under 2.5 goals. So far, they have the joint best defence in the league, having conceded just one goal. They go here with seven clean sheets in 10 league matches and at home, Sevilla have lost just two of their last 15 league matches. Against Valencia, they are unbeaten in the last five and go to this game with four straight wins. All their last seven meetings in the league have however produced under 2.5 goals.

Valencia, on the other hand, are looking to recover from a disappointing loss against Real Madrid. They were four minutes away from a win that would have taken them top of the table but two quick-fire goals from Real saw the clash end 2-1. They still have a consistent scoring record intact though; in their five matches this season, Valencia have scored in all. However, in only one of their five matches have they managed to score more than a goal. Valencia have kept two clean sheets in their five matches so far, and both teams have scored in three of their last five matches. They have one win in 12 league matches and in the last 19, they have 10 losses and only two wins. Last season wasn’t their best and this term they are looking to address their past shortcomings.
