After their Copa del Rey action, Sevilla resumes La Liga action with a big game, at home to Real Sociedad this Saturday. The two sides have Champions League ambitions and head here separated by three points. Hosts Sevilla are sixth with 27 points and Sociedad have so far managed 30 points, and are placed fourth on the league standings. Ahead of the clash at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Sevilla are unbeaten in eight games, with six wins and five clean sheets therein. They have suffered just two losses in the last 15 matches and in the 15 matches they have won 11. The team has failed to score in just two of the last 15 matches but will need to do better at home, having won just once in the last four at their backyard. They have one clean sheet in their last five home matches and have lost twice – understandably, to Real Madrid in La Liga and Chelsea in the Champions League. In the long run though, their home form has been good, winning 11 of their last 15. In the last 10 home matches, Sevilla have lost twice and won seven times and will be hoping to replicate their performance in the 2-0 win over Villarreal in their most recent home game.

Real Sociedad on the other hand will be hoping to stabilize their run in their quest for a top four finish. After a good start to the season, at some point staying top of the league standings, they have had a slump that now sees them eight points behind Atletico Madrid. Sociedad are coming from a 1-1 draw with Osasuna, making it two matches unbeaten, after an earlier three-match losing run. Too many draws in their recent matches are to blame for the slump though, with the team having registered one win and seven draws in their last 11 matches. They have won just five of their last 15 matches and kept six clean sheets in the 15 games. In their last four away matches, Sociedad have one win and two losses but they have three clean sheets in the last five though they have conceded two or more in two of their last three away matches. In terms of attack, Sociedad have failed to score in just one of the last five league matches. The visitors will be hoping to give all for a win here, having gone winless against Sevilla in the last five meetings and failing to score in three of those.
