Sevilla vs Alavés Prediction & Betting Tips - LaLiga

The race for the La Liga title may not be all that close but when it comes to the Champions League and Europa League qualification places, it's a different story. Alaves are fifth in the table and only two points behind the Champions League positions. However, they are only a point above seventh-placed Sevilla and are battling to keep hold of the Europa League place they currently hold. Both of these teams lost at the weekend so need to get back in winning ways. Sevilla lost 1-0 at home to Valencia who are now sixth in the table, the final Europa League qualifying position. They were in title contention at one time this season but have only won three of their last 13 league games. Home form is still good though with only two defeats in the last 12 league games and both by teams in the top seven (Valencia and Barcelona) when the game was played.  It's the fact they have only won one of their last 11 away league games that has seen them dropping down the table.

Alaves had been unbeaten in their last six league games before the weekend's heavy 4-0 defeat at home to second-placed Atletico Madrid. Their away record isn't that strong with seven league defeats and they have only scored 17 away league goals. That form has improved of late with two wins but they were at Villarreal and Huesca who are both in the bottom four at present. Before those two wins they'd lost five of their last eight away league games. This should be a tight game and the tip is for a home victory for Sevilla.
