Sporting Braga weren’t strong finishers to the Primeira Liga and will be hoping to end the season with silverware when they take on Benfica in the Portuguese Cup final. This is the second final for Braga this season and after falling to Sporting in the League Cup, they will hope this ends positively. This will be the fourth meeting between the two sides this season; in the earlier three, Braga have two wins, including beating Benfica in the League Cup semis. They however lost in their most recent meeting – in the league. They head to this game with one win in their last six matches and failed to score in three of them. In the league, Braga finished fourth, a place below Benfica and 12 points behind.

Benfica had a stronger finish to the season though they missed out on the automatic Champions League slot. They are unbeaten in their last seven matches, with six of them wins, but they have just one clean sheet in eight. In the Portuguese Cup, Benfica have six straight wins, and in five of them they have kept clean sheets. Their last three matches in the competition were against Primeira Liga teams and with five clean sheets in the last six cup games, they will feel confident going to this final.
