Fortaleza have found their footing in the Brazilian Serie A and will be confident ahead of their trip to Morumbi to face Sao Paulo. Fourth placed Fortaleza are 10 points ahead of Sao Paulo, who are placed 14th after a tough start to the league campaign. Sao Paulo are coming from a Copa Libertadores game where they drew 1-1 with Argentine side Racing Club. They managed their first two wins of the league campaign in their last two Serie A matches and the back to back victories should spur them here. Sao Paulo have failed to score in just one of their last seven matches but they’ve scored more than a goal in only two of them, while they have one loss in nine home games. One of Sao Paulo’s two wins in the league this season came at home – the 1-0 victory over Bahia, and that remains their only clean sheet in the last five home matches, but they’ve scored in eight of their last 10 home games.

Fortaleza are coming from two straight wins and clean sheets. They now have three wins in the last four matches and three clean sheets in five. They have scored in each of their last four matches and in two of them they’ve netted three or more goals. Their good scoring run in recent matches has seen three of their last four matches produce over 2.5 goals. While Sao Paulo played in midweek, in the Copa Libertadores, Fortaleza had a free week and will hope to benefit from the extra rest. It is their away form that may let them down though.
