This neck-and-neck Austrian Bundesliga clash sees third-placed Salzburg welcome fourth-placed Sturm Graz to Red Bull Arena on Sunday. Salzburg are unbeaten in the Austrian top flight this season and have won all five of their competitive home matches, leading us to back the hosts in our prediction.
Salzburg carried their impressive domestic form into Thursday's Europa League league-phase opener against Levski Sofia, winning 1–0 courtesy of Haris Tabakovic’s 39th-minute goal. The Red Bulls drew 1–1 away at Ried in their last Bundesliga outing, maintaining their unbeaten start to the league season (W4, D2).
Notably, Danny Röhl’s team head into this clash with a perfect record in five home matches across all competitions, including back-to-back successes in their last two Bundesliga home fixtures.
Sturm Graz played out a goalless draw against Rennes in their Europa League league-phase opener on Wednesday. They edged past LASK 2–1 in their last Bundesliga outing, thanks to Oumar Diakite’s winner.
