St Etienne are fourth in Ligue 1 and one more win will confirm their position in the Europa League next season at the expense of Montpellier despite losing to them in their last home game. There's still a hope that they could make it into the Champions League but they have four points to make up on third-placed Lyon. They had won four straight league games before that shock loss to Montpellier. With Lyon home to Caen, who are in the bottom three, it's looking unlikely St Etienne can finish third. All they can do is try to win this game against Nice and their final match at Angers and see what happens to Lyon. St Etienne have won 12 home league games this season and only champions PSG have won more.

Nice are seventh in the table but nine points behind their opponents, so no chance of any Europa League football for them next season. They have only won one of their last five league games and that was a 3-0 home victory over relegated Guingamp. Their away form isn't inspiring at all with just one victory in the last 12 league matches. Scoring has been a major problem for Nice with only five scored in those 12 games. Their only recent away win was at Dijon who are also in the bottom three. Go for St Etienne to get a vital home win here.
