Rosenborg vs NK Maribor Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League

It will be a major suprise if Rosenborg don't reach the play-off round of the Champions League. They go into this second leg of the third qualifying round with a 3-1 lead over Maribor. There were no goals in the first half of the first leg but four came along in the second half. Two goals from Alexander Soderlund put them in control before Maribor got a goal back in the 70th minute. A minute later though Rosenborg scored again and ended the game 3-1 winners. They last made it to the Champions League group stages in the 2007/08 season. Last year, they made it through to the group stages of the Europa League. This time around, they had to start in the first qualifying round of the Champions League and have so far beaten Linfield and BATE Borisov. Rosenborg are fifth in the Norwegian league so are unlikely to be in the Champions League next season. Home form has seen Rosenborg with their last five games all won with 11 goals scored. Only one of their last eight home games in the Champions League has been lost.

Maribor are in deep trouble in this tie. They will arrive in Norway knowing that they need to score three goals in this game to have any chance of qualification. Even a 2-0 win will see them lose on away goals.  That's a big ask because at the time of writing this preview they have no wins in their last four matches and they are down in ninth in the Slovenian league. Away form has seen just one win in the last six. Champions League form on their travels isn't good either. They have only one victory in their last six played and only once scored three goals in the last 22. The tip here is for Rosenborg to get a home victory.
