AS Roma top Group J in the Europa League with four points from their first two games. They host Borussia Monchengladbach who are in third place and three points behind their opponents. Roma will be looking for a vital win that will put a six-point gap between them and their German opponents. Roma got their campaigin off to a strong start with a 4-0 home win over Istanbul Basaksehir (currently bottom of the group), though it took them 42 minutes to break the deadlock. A 1-1 draw at Wolfsberger followed, though they might have expected more after taking a first half lead. Roma are currently sixth in Italy's Serie A and have only one loss in their last 19 competitive games. Their last three have all ended in draws and only one of their last six home Europa League games in the past three years has been lost.

Borussia Monchengladbach had a nightmare start to this group. They lost 4-0 at home to Wolfsberger and then needed a 91st minute equalizer to rescue a point in Turkey. The pressure is on them to get something from this match. It's all a bit disappointing from a club that are currently top of the Bundesliga, despite a 1-0 loss at Dortmund at the weekend. That makes it two away games without a win  Roma are strong at home and can get the win in this match.
