Roberto Bautista Agut is the seventh seed in the Miami Open and one win away from his third final of the year. The Spaniard takes on Italian Jannik Sinner in the last four, after knocking out the top seed in the last round. Agut is ranked 12th in the world but could move into the top ten if winning this tournament. It's been a good 2021 so far for the Spaniard as he reached the final in both Montpellier and Doha. He lost both those finals to David Goffins and Nikoloz Basilashvili respectively. His last singles tournament win was in Doha three years ago. In this tournament, Agut has won three matches (his second round opponent withdrew) with two going to a final set. He didn't need that in the last eight though as he defeated the top seed (and world number two) Daniil Medvedev for the loss of just six games.

Jannik Sinner is the 21st seed for this tournament and the world number 31. He'll be in the top 25 next week after this run to the semi-finals and in the top 16 if winning the tournament. Sinner began 2021 winning a tournament in Melbourne but then lost in the first round of the Australian Open. He had a tough draw though, having to face Denis Shapovalov but did take the then world number 12 to five sets. Two of his three tournaments prior to the Miami Open saw him get to the last eight. In Dubai, he had a win over Agut beating him in three sets. This tournament has sen him beat two seeds, namely Karen Khachanov (14th) and Alexander Bublik (32nd).  This could go either way, go for over 21.5 games to be played
