Real Sociedad still have an outside chance of making it into the Europa League next season but not if they continue their current form. They are 11th in La Liga but that's only five points behind the final Europa League position. The trouble for Sociedad is that their form isn't good enough at present to close the gap. Only one of their last nine league games has been won, a home victory over Real Betis on April 4. Since then they have earned just one point from three games. Home form is a struggle with just one win in the last four, though two have ended all square. The weekend saw them lose 2-1 at Barcelona and they need a win from this game to keep in the hunt for that Europa League place.

Villarreal were knocked out of the Europa League last Thursday by Valencia but there was better news at the weekend. They beat Leganes 2-1 at home to win their second straight league games. Those victories have taken them out of the relegation zone and up to 14th in the table, two points above the bottom three. They have won two and drawn two of their last four away league games and with Sociedad struggling for form, the suggested bet here is a double chance one on Villarreal to win or draw this game.
