In their last trip here, Girona picked a 5 – 0 beating and heading to this game on a winless slate of five matches across all competitions doesn’t help matters for the Catalan side. In their last league match before the international break, they fell at home to Eibar and they also picked a loss in a friendly match against Toulouse during the break. Girona have not posted a clean sheet in the last five league matches which says much about their defensive discipline and despite having the league’s top scorer in Cristian Stuani, the defensive frailty has not helped their targets. They have however failed to score in just two matches in the season and Stuani has a lot to do with their scoring form in the season. Curiously, Girona are unbeaten in the last three away matches, winning one and drawing the other two. They have actually not lost any of their last six away league matches stretching back to last season and on the flip side, Real Sociedad have no win at home in the season and a long injury list as well as suspension will definitely make matters harder here for the hosts. Sociedad have no clean sheet at home this season, while Girona have one and it will be interesting to see how this plays out in the game.
