Real Sociedad need to get a win from this game after a run of two defeats in a row. They are still in fifth place in the table and only a point off the Champions League places. Now they host Real Betis who are down in 16th and have the worst defensive record in the league. Sociedad saw their season get off to a promising start with four points from their first two games before losing their unbeaten record away at Athletic Bilbao. They bounced back well from that defeat with three straight wins, including a home victory over Atletico Madrid. Their good run ened with two losses away at Sevilla and home to Getafe.

Their opponents have struggled this season and are only two points above the relegation zone. There have been plenty of goals in their eight league matches with 27 goals scored. The trouble is 16 of them have been scored by their opponents. Their first two league games were both lost with one being a 5-2 away defeat at Barcelona. Match number three got them their first league win with a 2-1 home win over Leganes who are bottom of La Liga. That was the start of a four-game unbeaten run that ended with a 5-1 loss at Villarreal. Betis have conceded more goals than any other side in the league and on their travels have just a point from three games with ten goals conceded. This looks booked for a home win.
