Real Sociedad's good run has come to an end with no wins in their last five league games. They are second after Saturday's games and could go top if getting a big win over league leaders Atletico Madrid. Sociedad had won six straight league games with 17 goals scored before their form began to slide. They drew the next three matches (two against sides currently in the bottom half of the table) and then lost at Barcelona, despite taking an early lead. Saturday saw them lose again when going down 2-1 at improving Levante. It was the same story again as Sociedad led in the first half. A goal three minutes from time doomed them to a second straight loss. They are still only three points behind leaders Atletico Madrid but have played 15 league matches, three more than their opponents. Sociedad have no wins in their last two home La Liga fixtures, drawing both of those matches. Six of their last eight home league fixtures have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. Only four goals have been conceded by Sociedad in seven outings on home soil.

Atletico Madrid had a good win on Saturday winning 3-1 at home to Elche. Luis Suarez scored twice in that win as they got back into winning ways after the loss at Real Madrid. That defeat is the only one they have suffered in La Liga this season with nine of their 12 games won. Defending is again their strong point with only five league goals conceded this season. Away from home,they have won three of their five league matches. Not that many goals though with just nine in those five games. All bar the 3-1 win at Osasuna have had under 2.5 goals scored in them with three clean sheets. Atletico are the form pick for this game as Sociedad continue their slide. When teams have their games in hand on them, their league position will begin to slump. Go for an away win here.
