Real managed to score in the loss to Levante on Saturday after going through a four – game goalless drought but they are on a five – match winless run as they endure their hardest ever moment in recent times. This Champions League game comes at a very bad time for Real, as four days later they have to travel to Barcelona for the El Clasico, which spells an uphill task for manager Julen Lopetegui. They are seventh on the La Liga log after the weekend loss and Viktoria Plzen will be alert to their hosts’ troubles as they visit Spain. After beating Roma in their opening Group G game at home, Real fell 0 – 1 to CSKA Moscow in Russia and they will be glad to host Viktoria Plzen at a time they seriously need to show their mentality as they go on their title defence.
