This will go down as a very poor season for Real Madrid, but they can still put up a respectable finish. Los Blancos, sitting second, are set to host ninth-placed Mallorca on matchday 36. We have a prediction for this match below.
The reigning champions of Spain, Real, can only delay Barcelona’s title celebrations for now. This is after their 4-3 loss to Barca in the latest Clasico on Sunday.
That defeat left Real seven points behind Barca in a season they will only have the UEFA Super Cup to show for their efforts. A season to forget has already seen massive changes announced at the team, with Carlo Ancelotti set to leave.
Mallorca are locked out of the European slots only by goal difference. After 35 matches, they've banked 47 points, which is already an improvement from the 40 they managed last season.
Looking at that as a yardstick, Los Bermellones can look at this as a good campaign. There’s still more to be achieved. They are coming from a 2-1 win over relegated Real Valladolid, ending a three-match winless run.
That too was not an easy outing, as Arrasate Elustondo’s side had to come from behind. Mallorca have in this game, the chance to win back-to-back league matches for the first time since December.

Our Real Madrid vs Mallorca Prediction
Real Madrid are having to cope with a number of key absences due to injuries and suspension. Still, they should have better quality than Mallorca, who are also grappling with a number of injuries. In their second last home match before heading to the Club World Cup, the best Real can do is give their fans two wins.
That should be manageable, facing Mallorca and Real Sociedad. Against Mallorca, Real have three wins in four, all with clean sheets. They’ve done well in recent league outings, while Mallorca have struggled. Our prediction for Real Madrid v Mallorca is for Real Madrid to win to nil.
