Things haven’t been very rosy for Rangers in their recent matches, and they will be keen to change the narrative when hosting Malmo in the return leg of their third qualifying round of the Champions League. Rangers trail 2-1 in this tie and it comes right after a second straight loss, having been shocked 1-0 by Dundee United in the Premiership. For a team that had a great campaign last season, two straight losses will be a concern and Steven Gerrard will hope this is quickly addressed. The loss to Dundee United was the first time in 12 competitive matches for Rangers to go without scoring. They need at least a 1-0 win here to stay in contention for the playoffs and should be able to count on their home form. Malmo conceded a last-minute goal in the first leg and will hope this doesn’t come to haunt them in the return leg. They have a good run though, going into this game unbeaten in nine matches with five clean sheets and six wins in the run. They hope to keep this good run heading to Glasgow, and the fact that they’ve scored in nine of their last 10 matches places them in a good position. Away from home, they are unbeaten in their last five matches, winning two, drawing three and failing to score in just one of their last 11.
