Rangers vs FC Progres Niederkorn Prediction & Betting Tips - Europa League
by Steve Ashfield | in Europa League Prediction
Rangers reached the group stages of the Europa League last season after winning through four qualifying rounds. They bid to do the same again this season and Steven Gerrard's team had an easy first qualifying round. They defeated St Joseph's from Gibraltar 10-0 on aggregate. The home leg was won 6-0 and that was their fourth clean sheet in their last five Europa League games played at Ibrox Park. Pre-season has gone well for Rangers with four wins and a draw. They had scored 19 goals without reply until the weekend's 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers. Home form in the Europa League has seen them unbeaten in their last 17 games with ten clean sheets. They met Progres Neiderkorn in the 2017-18 Europa League winning 1-0 at home but losing 2-0 away.
Their opponents are from Luxembourg and they are no strangers to facing British and Irish teams this season. The preliminary round saw them get past Cardiff Metropolitan University needing a 73rd minute goal in the away second leg (which they lost 2-1) to go through on away goals. That took them into a first qualifying round game against Cork City from Ireland. They won the away leg 2-0 but found themselves 2-0 down in the hoe second leg. A goal 17 minutes from time saw them go through 3-2 on aggregate. Not the best of performances and this game is going to be a lot tougher against the second best team in Scotland. They have played 13 away games in the Europa League and won only two of them. The tip here is to go for Rangers to win and lead at both half and full time.

Our Rangers vs FC Progres Niederkorn Prediction
Rangers had an easy first qualifying round tie and look too strong for their second qualifying round opponents. The Scottish side have an impressive home record and regularly keep clean sheets in European football. Their opponents have struggled through the first two qualifying rounds and could so easily have lost in the preliminary round to a university team. The tip here is for Rangers to win and lead at both half and full time.
