Rafael Jodar attempts here to reach a second successive outdoor hard court final. The 20th seed faces 28th-seeded Brandon Nakashima in the last four of the National Bank Open Jodar is in top form and our prediction is he will reach the final.

Last month saw Jodar make it to the final of the outdoor hard court tournament played in Washington, losing to Taylor Fritz. His excellent form has continued in Montreal with four wins, the last three without dropping a set.

In the quarter-finals, the Spaniard defeated 18th seed Arthur Fils. 

That was the third seed he's beaten, having previously defeated 11th seed Lorenzo Musetti and eighth-seeded Jiri Lehecka.

Jodar is up to a career-high 11th in the live rankings, 14 places above his opponent.

Brandon Nakashima is playing in his fourth ATP Tour outdoor hard court semi-final of the year. He lost in the last four in Acapulco and Washington with his one appearance in a final being in Brisbane seven months ago.

The American has dropped two sets on his way to this semi-final. Round two saw him have to come from a set down to defeat Titouan Droguet. He also lost the middle set against 23rd seed Arthur rinderknech, before beating 19th-seeded Luciano Darderi in straight sets.
