Two clubs battling relegation face each other in the Championship this weekend when Queens Park Rangers host Derby County at Loftus Road. QPR are 17th in the table with 27 points from 24 games, while Derby are 21st with 22 points from the same number of matches. The Rams are only two points and one place above the relegation zone, and the teams below them have games in hand. It's a mammoth task for a rookie manager, but Wayne Rooney assures fans that he is up to the challenge of keeping the club up. The Manchester United legend announced his official retirement from the game earlier in the month to little fanfare, his dwindling career ensuring that he failed to go out with a bang. Rooney has enough on his plate without worrying about the fawning over his career. He picked up his first win as the permanent boss in midweek when Derby beat Bournemouth 1-0 at home. It was the tenth Derby game in a row in which both teams didn't score. 

QPR have been in good form of late, winning their last two matches. Both of those outings were away from home, each being a low-scoring victory with a clean sheet. Six of their previous eight games featured only one team scoring. Their last ten outings featured fewer than three goals. QPR are presently enduring a desperate run at home, losing four and drawing one of their previous five fixtures. This blip is surprising because they were unbeaten in eight of their nine home matches prior. We anticipate another low-scoring game settled by the odd goal. Back under 1.5 goals.
