The matchday 31 meeting between Queens Park Rangers and Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday promises to be an entertainer, as both teams look for a crucial win. This EFL Championship match between the 14th-placed Rs and the 5th-placed Rovers at Loftus Road comes with our prediction of a home win.

QPR has 38 points and is six behind top-six, while Blackburn has 45 points and is only one point better off in the race for playoff places. The Rs lost 2-1 at Millwall on Saturday, where all three goals were scored within 25 minutes. That result made it two defeats in a row for the hosts, straight after four consecutive wins.

One of those defeats came against Sheffield Wednesday at this venue in their last home game, but they won five in a row before that. Recreating that form could be crucial to their hopes of avenging the 2-0 loss in the reverse fixture.

Blackburn won 2-1 at home against Preston last Friday, with that victory halting a run of three consecutive league defeats. The Rovers are precariously placed in the playoff race, as only three points separate them from the 10th-placed Wednesday.

The Rovers will be desperate to address their poor recent form, as they are winless in four league trips. This sequence saw them lose three and draw one, highlighting their problems on the road.
