PSG will be at home against Ligue 1 rivals Monaco for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League playoff tie for the round of 16. Les Parisiens lead this tie 3-2 after winning the reverse game last week. Read on to find our prediction for this match.
This will mark the third meeting of the season for the two teams, and each one of them has managed at least a win. PSG, the defending UCL champions, missed out on automatic qualification for the round of 16 after finishing 11th in the League Phase.
Monaco, on their part, finished in 21st place after a difficult first round that saw them win just twice in eight matches. Les Parisiens are heavily favoured by bookmakers to win on the night and sail through to the next round. From this round, the aggregate winner will face Chelsea or Barcelona in the round of 16.

PSG - Monaco: Form Analysis
PSG showed their pedigree in the first leg as they battled from a 2-0 hole to win 3-2. Luis Enrique’s men found themselves two goals down after just 18 minutes, but were not fazed and at halftime, had drawn level. They would add a third after Monaco were reduced to 10-men and now seek to see their first leg efforts through.
The capital club had bizarrely lost 3-1 away to Rennes in the league just before they travelled to Monaco, with that result ending a four-game unbeaten run. There were no such surprises this past weekend as a much-changed side won 3-0 against visiting Metz.
Monaco haven’t won consecutive games since October.
Monaco were also victorious in the league over the weekend. Le Rocher built up their confidence for the return leg in the capital with a 3-2 victory away to league-chasing Lens. The win saw PSG return to the summit of the French Ligue 1 standings.
Monaco went into the first leg with shaky form as they had won just twice from eight games. This is the form that has characterized Monaco’s season. The Red and Whites have struggled with inconsistency. Monaco have lost in back-to-back seasons in Europe in the playoffs for the round of 16.

PSG & Monaco Squad Analysis
Ousmane Dembele suffered a calf injury in the first leg and was withdrawn after 27 minutes. He sat out the win over the weekend and is a huge doubt for this match. The reigning Ballon d’Or winner was replaced by Desire Doue in Monaco, and the young Frenchman would go on to score twice.
Doue was on target also against Metz over the weekend and will most likely keep his spot amongst the starters. PSG have a plethora of attacking options, as was evident in the first leg. Vitinha, who missed a penalty in that match, is PSG’s leading scorer in the UCL with five goals.
Paul Pogba is among the injured and absent Monaco players.
Monaco will be without Aleksandr Golovin. The midfielder, who has one assist in Europe this season, was sent off in the first leg. Florian Balogun scored both goals to hand Monaco an early lead in that game and will be the visitors' focal point once again.
The American has netted five times in the UCL. Ansu Fati and Mika Biereth are the other attacking options for Monaco. The two have scored a combined 12 goals.

Our PSG vs Monaco Prediction
Our prediction for PSG v Monaco is for this match to produce more than 3.5 goals. Five goals were scored in the first leg match, and there is a strong possibility that these two sides will play out another high-scoring game.
PSG, who are seeking to see out their first-leg advantage, are a free-scoring side. Monaco too are a strong attacking team, and as they are chasing the tie, we can expect them to go all out against their hosts.
PSG vs Monaco Alternative Predictions
PSG wins
For our second prediction, we pick PSG to win. Les Parisiens offered a psychological blow to Monaco when they came back from 2-0 down in the first leg.
They have also fared much better than their visitors this season. Monaco have also not won away in Paris in five years, losing in four of their last five trips.
