PSG vs Lens Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1
by Daniel Ngulu | in Ligue 1 Prediction
An eighth Ligue 1 title in 10 years is on the horizon for PSG and the setting is perfect for them to win it, at home when they host Lens in the next game. PSG go into the game with 77 points, while Lens have 53 points heading into the clash. The hosts are coming from a 3-0 win away to Angers, their fourth straight win since the 3-0 loss at AS Monaco. Kylian Mbappe’s opener in the game was his seventh goal in four matches and Spaniard Sergio Ramos and Marquinos stepped up with additional goals. It means PSG have scored two or more goals in each of their last four matches, with both teams scoring in three. This was their first clean sheet in five matches though. Brazilian Neymar missed the game through suspension and will be back with PSG only needing a point to be confirmed winners. Argentine forward Lionel Messi missed the Angers game with injury and could sit out this one too.
Lens have also been impressive in their own respect; they go into this game with four wins in the last five matches. Their most recent, a 2-0 win over Montpellier, was the third straight victory and among the teams they have beaten recently is reigning champions Lille. Lens have ambitions for Europe and are just three points below fifth placed Monaco; they will be looking to further these ambitions as they seek to derail PSG’s title charge. One thing that stands out is their attacking returns; Lens have failed to score in just one of their last five matches and in the remaining four they have scored two or more goals. They however have two clean sheets only in those five matches. This fixture rarely ends without goals and even here we expect them. In the last five meetings between these two sides, both teams have scored in four. In the first leg meeting in the league, these two drew 1-1, after Lens conceded a stoppage time goal from Georginio Wijnaldum, canceling out Seko Fofana’s goal.
