It has been tough for Leipzig so far this season and it won’t get any easier as they travel to Paris to take on PSG in Group A of the Champions League. It is going to Match Day 3 in the competition and they are on zero points at the bottom of the group while top placed PSG have garnered four points so far. The French giants returned to winning ways in their last game, beating Angers 2-1 in Ligue 1 after their shock 2-0 loss to Rennes earlier. In four of their last five matches, they’ve scored two times in each, and going into this game, they are assured of being stronger. They will have their South American contingent back after missing the weekend game and playing at home will also be an advantage. PSG have played 13 matches this season, and they’ve won 10. In the last game in this group, they beat Manchester City 2-0 for their first win in five Champions League games. This is their fourth meeting with Leipzig in competitive action; in the earlier three, they won two and lost one.

Leipzig drew 1-1 with Freiburg ahead of this game and they will be in Paris seeking the first point(s) of their campaign. They’ve won just three of their last 10 matches, and in that run, they lost five and managed just three clean sheets. In their opening two Champions League matches, Leipzig have conceded eight goals and as they seek to stop the bad run, they face the best defensive side in this group. The German side has four straight losses in the Champions League and conceded two or more in each of the last six in the competition. On a more positive note, they will have Jose Angelino available after suspension in the loss to Club Brugge. They will also be banking on the in-form Christopher Nkunku to bang in the goals. The forward has scored four in the two Champions League matches and has five goals in the last five matches.
