Mauricio Pochettino is in the managerial seat for his PSG debut when they host Brest in Ligue 1 this Saturday. Thomas Tuchel has made way for the former Spurs manager after alleged arguments behind the scenes about how the club operates. Pochettino inherits a star-studded PSG squad that lies second in the league table, with 36 points from 18 games. They are three points behind Lyon's leaders and only ahead of Lille, in third, on goal difference. It is that rare thing in Ligue 1: A title race. The Brest side hoping to spoil the welcome party is tenth in the table after picking up 26 points. Brest may succeed in their aims too as they are in decent form, boasting five wins and two draws from their last nine league outings. However, their away record is one of the worst in the division, with only Nantes and Lorient faring worse on the road. Even so, a recent 2-2 draw at Lyon proved that Brest still have the quality to cause their hosts pain.

Unbeaten in their last four matches, PSG have dropped too many points for the owners' liking this season. A record of 11 wins from 18 games is considered subpar for a winning machine like PSG. The reigning champions failed to win four of their previous seven league matches, suggesting that a change was necessary. They won six of their nine home games this season, with five of those victories featuring clean sheets.
