Porto vs Lyon Prediction & Betting Tips - Europa League

FC Porto didn’t have a great run in the Champions League but after negotiating their way through the Europa League knockout playoffs, will be eyeing an early advantage when they host Olympique Lyon in the first leg of the Round of 16.  The Portuguese giants go into this game with an 18-game unbeaten run and will be looking to stretch it on, especially as they play at home, and are unbeaten in their last nine home games. Porto are coming from a 4-2 away win over Pacos Ferreira in the Portuguese League, their third win in the last five matches. They have scored two or more in three of their last four matches and after playing four of their last five matches away from home, they’ll hope to make their home form count. Seven of their last 10 matches have produced over 2.5 goals and in six of the last seven home games, they’ve scored two or more goals.

Olympique Lyon ended their two-game winless run in their last match by beating Lorient 4-1 away from home in the French Ligue 1 and will be hoping to extend the good run they had in the Europa League group stages here. They went unbeaten in six group stage matches, winning five, scoring in all six and keeping three clean sheets. In only one of their last six Europa League games did Lyon fail to score two or more. This though will be another kind of challenge and they aren't in their best shape going into the game. The French side has managed just one clean sheet in the last six matches, and failed to score in two of the six. They go into the game with two losses in their last five matches, though they won each of their last three away matches at the group stages.
