FC Porto were dethroned in the Primeira Liga by Sporting Lisbon and this season they will hope to reclaim the title. They start the new campaign with a home match against Belenenses, who finished 10th last season. In their last five matches Belenenses are not just winless, they have also failed to score in four of them. They have managed just one goal in the five matches – their most recent game, a 3-1 loss to AS Roma, and they have one clean sheet only. Three times in the last five matches, they have conceded two or more goals. Belenenses have already tasted defeat this season, losing 1-0 to Segunda side Mafra in the League Cup.
